AMC movie theater closes in Kalamazoo

The city of Kalamazoo’s only movie theater is closing for good just one month after reopening.

The AMC Portage Street 10 movie theater shut off its projectors permanently on Sunday after being open for just a month. Movie theaters in Michigan were allowed to reopen October 9 after being closed since March.

The theater was one of six AMC theaters owned by EPR Properties that are shutting down, according to WOOD TV 8.

The Kalamazoo 10 theater in Oshtemo and Celebration Cinemas in Portage are still open and showing movies.
