Kalamazoo County announced Monday they are closing their doors to walk-in visitors for the foreseeable future. That’s meant to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in county offices and comply with state workplace rules.
Much of the business the county does can still be conducted online via the county’s website.
County administrator Tracie Moored told MLive the move is meant to protect lives and set an example for the community.
“We intend to model actions that are proactive in slowing the spread of Covid-19,” she said. “The health and safety of our more than 900 employees and all residents of Kalamazoo County has been, and remains, our top priority.”
