Volunteers launch Michigan vaccination website

The goal is collect inoculation information in one place to help connect people with vaccines.

A new, volunteer-run website seeks to help connect people in Michigan with vaccines for COVID-19.

VaccineMI.com compiles data from around the state to help people navigate competing bureaucracies to find where appointments for vaccination may be available.

The effort is run by a group of web developers, data analysts, and good old-fashioned phone jockeys who saw a need for a single source for clear information.

“I am a person who is very online who has a lot of patience for navigating through multiple websites, and I also have the time to do it,” said Aarti Narayanan, a co-founder of the site, in an interview with WZZM.

She said not everyone has the time to parse that amount of information.

“We just want everyone in Michigan to have access to all the information available to them. We want to bring them clarity,” she said.

The group is still looking for volunteers to help. You can contact them at contact@vaccinemi.com.
