With COVID-19 vaccine supplies going up and demand going down, many vaccine providers are moving to walk-in appointments in an effort to get more shots in arms.
Two national pharmacy chains, CVS and Rite-Aid, have announced plans to offer walk-in appointments in their Michigan stores.
“Walk-ins allow Rite Aid to better support customers that may not have access to Internet for scheduling, while also increasing flexibility for customers,” reads a press release from the pharmacy.
Both stores will also continue to use pre-registered appointment slots as well. Both offer all three COVID-19 vaccines available – the two shot versions offered by Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna, and the one shot version produced by Johnson & Johnson.
The chains will accept appointments for people between the ages of 16 and 18 with the approval of a guardian.
