Bird Banding Up Close

The KVBO has banded over 600,000 birds over the past 50 years, and our team will be back at it again this year! Stop out to the Banding Barn near KNC Camp to meet with the research team; if the banders are not there, they are checking the nets and will return shortly. Banding is weather dependent and capture at a program is not guaranteed.
All banding, marking, and sampling is being conducted under a federally authorized Bird Banding Permit issued by the U.S. Geological Survey’s Bird Banding Lab.
