Jammin’ in Kalamazoo is a musical storybook following three young musicians who harness their unique strengths and the power of music to help their beloved music teacher in a time of need. Written by Kalamazoo native Sonya Bernard-Hollins, this book comes to life in vivid color through music composed by acclaimed musician Branford Marsalis and illustrations by Dennis Reid.

Featuring the Symphony’s Burdick-Thorne String Quartet and narration by Von Washington, Jr., along with a finale performance by Branford himself, this is sure to be a one-of-a-kind event the whole family will love.
